I Made This List… (Best Intentions and Little Progress)

I hope you all have had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with family and friends and good eats. It has been a time of thankful reflection for me, and I have had a relaxing holiday weekend. Which, by the way, was not how it was supposed to go down.

Thankful reflection, friends, and food – yes, but knowing I had a four-day weekend for the Thanksgiving holiday, and knowing I was neither traveling (had dinner with local friends) nor having guests, I thought it the perfect time to make a list of all the things I’ve been meaning to do around the house and just knock it out! I was pumped! Can you feel my energy and excitement?!

Well, here we are mid-day Sunday, and I’ve completed less than half of my list. I know, cue the wa-wa-waaa sound byte. BUT, I plan to complete one more thing on my list today (if for no other reason than to help myself feel less of a List Loser) and am debating which thing it will be.  Here is the original list and where it stands as of now:

  • Touch-up paint in dining room
  • Hang mirror in dining room (will need help with that)
  • Paint shelf and accessories for dining room
  • Hang shelf and accessories in dining room
  • Adjust artwork upward in living room
  • Paint entry door
  • Hang hooks in entry (still searching for just the right hook/look)
  • Hang mirror in half bath
  • Remove towel/robe hook in master bath, add anchors, replace hook
  • Fill hole on master bath window frame
  • Repair splintered wood on master bath window frame (attempted, but need to borrow a vice grip)
  • Clean adhesive from master bath window frame
  • Install roman shade in master bath

So you see what I mean when I say I had the best intentions, right? Anywho, my two options for today are to paint the inside of the entry door or to paint and hang the shelf and accessories in the dining room. What do you think? Maybe a little direction is all I need to get moving on this stuff. Maybe. Ha!

Entry door. Thinking of painting it black;
leaving casing/trim white, but open to painting
casing/trim black if it doesn’t look right (and possibly
painting it all back to white if it’s all wrong!)
Shelf and accessories for dining room wall. Need to paint all same shade of white
(or should I do silver to mimic the mirror that will be on the adjacent wall?)
Shelf and accessories will go on the smaller wall on the left.

Feel free to weigh in. It’s already lunch time and all I’ve done is walk the dog and write this post…

Cheers!
