Someone recently told me that picking your tomatoes green is just as well as letting them ripen on the vine. I smiled, politely said “oh wow,” and filed the idea in the Not Likely mental folder. Fast-forward about a week, a week of not watering my tomato plant, and though the plant was dead, it was also covered in little green cherry tomatoes. I thought what the heck, and I picked every one of those greenies, rinsed them and left them in a colander at room temp. Here’s what happened.

I’ll be darned. Or as my BiL Randy would say, I’ll be dipped in buttermilk. Ha! Did you all know this already?
